Her expertise lies in environmental design with prominent focus on space and users’ experience and interaction with different aspects of the environment; the physical environment, sensory awareness and stimulation, streetscape and ultimately how such understanding can inform the design process.

She has secured funding from diverse bodies in the area of sustainability, use of open spaces and environmental quality, including perception of environmental stimuli, and interventions to encourage behavioural change.

Her work on outdoor comfort has received awards from diverse bodies (from the International Society of Biometeorology to the Royal Institute of British Architects) and best paper prizes, and has influenced understanding of the topic across the world.
